I think it's a slippery slope and better just to keep it random. 65% WR players will have to be matched with 35% WR players to balance out the skill gap. So should they then look at the amount of games it took to rank out? And if they're looking at that, then surely they'd need to start taking into account WR, average damage etc? If they then started balancing out teams that way, everyone's WR will start averaging out at 50%. I have seen many, many complete idiots playing ranked (especially last season, which was full of reversing Musashi snipers losing the match to save their star, which they wouldn't even have had to save in the first place had they actually been useful). I play ranked, and I can tell you that ranks are meaningless. Most of the time if you take a break from a game for a couple of minutes, you'll usually play better than if you keep slogging through it, whereas you'd probably just end up more frustrated. Sort of collect yourself for a little bit: relax, get a snack, go for a walk, ect. This is a video game, and if you're not having fun in a game, it's just best to stop playing it for a bit. In addition, any kind of MM rigging could lead to some players losing on purpose to manipulate that, and thus ruining the fun of their entire team. That would also lead to a lot of players quitting the game simply because their motivation to play is to become better and get better stats. Like, what if the matchmaker distributed those ranked players evenly on both teams? Don't you think it would at least make the match more likely to go either way instead of a steamroll? The issue wasn't the ranked players, it was that your entire team just sucked. Most of the non-ranked players of the enemy team were better players than half of their ranked players and both of your ranked players - and, actually, better than most of your team. Yes, rank 1 players probably know what they are doing, but you can reach rank 10 easily if you invest enough time, even if you are a really bad player.įor example, out of the 7 ranked players of the enemy team in that screenshot, 3 were very bad - just like the 2 ranked players of your team. 90% of the times I've been in these games, these stacked teams just roll the other team. Like, does that seem fair? To me it doesn't, since ranked players usually know what their doing.
